MARTINAIR APPOINTS NEW VICE PRESIDENTS

Netherlands-based carrier Martinair has appointed new vice presidents in its world wide network. Peter Scholten (42) has been appointed vice president and general manager in The Americas. In this position he will be responsible for both cargo and passenger business and operations.

Scholten's duties will encompass managing the offices of Martinair in the North, South and Central America and the Caribbean. He has worked for the company during the past 10 years, most recently for Martinair Cargo as vice president of the Asia Pacific region based in Hong Kong.

Frank de Jong (42), currently vice president cargo sales Europe, will take over as vice president Asia Pacific. This assigns responsibility to him for Martinair Cargo operations throughout the region, which spans the Middle East, Indian Sub Continent, Far East and Pacific.

In his position as vice president cargo sales Europe de Jong will be succeeded by Bernard van der Vloed (46). He recently worked as general manager for Copex and as director regional sales for TNT.
