SkyTeam widens net

SkyTeam says it's talking about alliance membership with about a dozen airlines and may add two of them by year-end.

SkyTeam wants to expand membership in Asia, India and Latin America, alliance chairman Leo van Wijk said.

"Latin America is still a relatively wide (open) spot for us," said van Wijk.

"It's not easy to find a partner who covers all of it, so you have to go with multiple partners who cover pieces (of it)."
