Hong Kong prices spotlighted by BAI

The Baltic Exchange Airfreight Index (BAI) shows rates from Hong Kong to North America were down 5.5 per cent year on year in February to US$4.66 per kilo, saying the timing of the Lunar New Year had affected performance.

Prices were lower than January, when rates stood at US$5.22 per kg.

From Hong Kong to Europe, prices were down five per cent year on year to US$4.18 per kg, higher than January, when rates on the trade stood at US$4.12 per kg, though for the last week of the month they exceeded the levels registered from Hong Kong to North America.
