Descartes Systems Group, a specialist linking logistics-intensive businesses, has contracted with air services provider dnata to deploy Descartes Core Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) readers across global cargo operations and track international mail, parcel and cargo shipments.

Guillaume Crozier, divisional vp Operations and Product Development at dnata said the Descartes solution would help dnata further improve service efficiency, tracking customers' cargo progress in real-time.

 

Descartes Core BLE readers capture the ground and air movement of ULDs that have either Descartes or third-party BLE tags attached. 

 

As well as location, sensors also can track temperature, movement and humidity.

 

The data helps carriers manage ULD fleets and reduce losses.
